5 Diseases caused by smoking

 Smoking is one of the lifestyle of today's society. The number of smokers in developing countries is much greater when compared with developed countries. Now, smoking is not only done by adults, especially men, but also carried out by teenagers and even children, both boys and girls. In fact, smoking can damage your health. Many people who know the dangers of smoking, but many are ignoring the dangers of smoking.

More than 700 types of chemical additives which may be added to increase the enjoyment of smoking. Cigarette smoke contains 4000 chemicals, such as carbon monoxide, arsenic, acetone and others. Secondhand smoke will have a terrible impact when compared with active smokers, because of secondhand smoke will stir the 43 substances known to cause cancer.

Current smoking lifestyle only result in damaging the health of course, but it also can lead to various diseases. Here are some of diseases caused by smoking.

1.      Emphysema

Heavy smokers who had smoked for many years to have emphysema. Emphysema is a disease that gradually makes the lungs lose their elasticity. When this happens, it will be difficult to remove the air dirty. The characteristics of patients with emphysema is having trouble breathing in the morning and evening, out of breath easily. Other traits are often accompanied by severe flu and severe cough may be chronic bronchitis. Cough often do not stop and become chronic.

2.      Heart Disease

Smoking is a major cause of heart attacks. A smoker's death caused by heart disease when compared to more deaths caused by lung cancer. Smoking low tar and nicotine does not guarantee reduced risk of heart disease. Because some of the cigarettes that use a filter increases the amount of carbon monoxide is inhaled. Cigarette with a filter having a worse effect on a cigarette that does not use a filter.

The main substances contained in cigarettes is nicotine. Nicotine may make the heart beat faster and increases the body's oxygen needs. Nicotine can narrow blood vessels, thus slowing down the flow of oxygen. Cigarette smoke also contains carbon monoxide which is poisonous. This substance goes into the bloodstream and blocks the flow of oxygen to the heart and other vital organs. That causes the smokers at high risk of heart disease.

3.      Lung Cancer

Cigarette smoke contains many cancer-causing chemicals. Inhaled smoke contains chemicals that can damage the lungs. Lung cancer is a common cancer caused by smoking. The spread of lung cancer occurs in the body quietly until a higher stage. In many cases, lung cancer kills quickly.

4.      Body Damage

Not only harm the respiratory tract, lungs and heart negative effects of smoking, according to research can damage body tissues. Many diseases associated with tobacco use, covers pneumonia (pneumonia), leukemia, kidney cancer, gum disease, cataracts, pain in pancreatic and cervical cancer. The reason for the toxicity of cigarette smoke everywhere spread through the bloodstream. Smoking can also cause disease in almost every organ of the body.

5.      Old Faster

From the results of a study of smokers, suggesting that men and women smokers face more wrinkles when compared with nonsmokers. The aging process increases with the habit and the number of cigarettes smoked each day. Heavy smokers have wrinkles on the skin almost five-fold when compared with nonsmokers. In fact, the aging process has begun for the teenagers who smoke, such as yellow teeth, wrinkled skin and bad breath.

From smoking is very detrimental to your health. There are so many negative effects caused by smoking. In addition, deaths caused by smoking over almost 3 times greater than the number who die from the drugs and alcohol. And ages of people who smoke shortens from 13 to 14 years in nonsmokers. Therefore it is important for smokers to quit smoking.

  1. Yea, I agree you. I finally switched to e-cigs. No tobacco, no tar, no smoke. It is widely known that tobacco-based cigarettes contain around 4 000 harmful chemicals including arsenic, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide and carbon monoxide. About 50 of these chemicals are thought to be carcinogenic. E cigarettes do not contain tobacco or tar and produce no smoke! I'm enjoining so much!
